Award Season at the EuroNanoForum 2017
The EuroNanoForum 2017 was organised under the Maltese presidency of the European Union and took place in Valetta from June 21-23, 2017.
Since 2003, the biannual conference series attracts the most innovative nano-enabled companies and leading nano researchers. It has grown into the most significant European forum for scientists, industrialists and policy makers to discuss the use of research results in the various nanotechnology fields and associated industrial sectors. In 2017, participants particularly focused on how nano- and materials technologies can strengthen competitiveness across all European industries.
The programme offered plenary sessions, interactive events, an exhibition and awards in several categories. B-SMART partner SINTEF convinced the jury and won two of three titles: The “Best Poster Award” was given to Ruth Schmid for her poster “Ultrasound-enhanced drug delivery using nanoparticle-stabilized microbubbles". In addition, SINTEF won the "Best Exhibitor Award". The jury was looking for someone that contributed broadly to the big challenges and found at the SINTEF stand both small sensors that were sent to mars and also research on cancer treatment.
In B-SMART, SINTEF’s main tasks are the characterization and quality control of the drug delivery systems – enabling scientific progress through the application of highly advanced technologies for the best of society is at the heart of SINTEFS’s philosophy. Congratulations to our partner SINTEF!
