B-SMART partner among TOP 100 most influential women in Spain

María José Alonso was chosen among the 15 women in the Top of Honor on the list “Top 100 of the most influential women in Spain”, published by the magazine Mujeres y Cia.

The honor was officially awarded in Madrid on June 23, 2017 during the gala “Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain 2016-17”. The ranking is divided into ten categories each announcing ten women who stand out in their multiple fields. Prof. Alonso has been elected among the top 10 women within the category “Academics and Researchers”. All laureates will join a working group with access to various activities that serve as a think tank and network to promote visibility and presence of women in all areas.

María José Alonso is full professor of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC). Her lab is well-known for their long-term experience in the design and development of nanocarriers intended to deliver complex molecules, such as peptides, proteins and polynucleotides.

After the recognitions for Roosmarijn Vandenbroucke (VIB), Camilla Borghese (IBI) and Ruth Schmid (SINTEF), this most recent award highlights the powerful contributions of women researchers in the B-SMART consortium.
